Abstract:

Abstract Transient hyperphosphatasemia of infancy and childhood is a benign condition, of unknown aetiology and self-limited outcome that affects specially children younger than 5 years. There is an important elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase without evidence of bone or liver disease. The clinical case of a one year girl is described, making comments about controversies on the matter. Key words: Alkaline phosphatase.
